About the Cause
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
A global initiative dedicated to increasing awareness, promoting early detection, and supporting those affected by breast cancer.
Each year, thousands of South Africans are diagnosed with breast cancer, making it the most common cancer among women in the country. Early detection through regular self-exams, clinical screenings, and mammograms can significantly improve outcomes — but many people still lack access to information and support.
That’s where organisations like CANSA (the Cancer Association of South Africa) step in.
CANSA works year-round to:

Provide education and awareness programmes in communities across South Africa

Support patients and families through care homes, counselling, and medical guidance

Fund critical research to help improve prevention and treatment
